The town of Shipshewana has shops and attractions that are open year-round. The Shipshewana Flea Market itself is a seasonal market (see dates and hours here), but the Auctions, Farmstead Inn, and downtown shops are year-round. In the Amish/Mennonite community, it is commonplace to be closed on Sundays, so please consult visitshipshewanain.com for specific shop hours.

Restrooms: Seven different locations throughout the market that are open at all times during market days. Showers: Showers are available for vendor use on all scheduled Market days including set up dates. RV/Motor Home Park: For those not parking on their flea market space, we have a 70 site RV Park with full hookups. Food / Refreshments: There are five food court locations and one full-service restaurant located on the grounds. Rest Areas: The flea market has several covered pavilions throughout the market designated as rest areas for customers. These areas will have picnic tables and seating, and may feature special entertainment.
Yes, vendors may bring your own pop-up tent or tables. Canopies or tents must be staked to the ground, including those using cement blocks at the base. For big top tent inquiries (which require a minimum 18 week space rental and additional storage fees), contact Shipshewana Tent Rental at 260-768-7485 or the Flea Market Office.
Yes, vendors can park on your space as long as your vehicle fits. Outdoor spaces are 25' x 20'. All vehicles belonging to a vendor or vendor employee not parked on rented space are to have a parking pass issued by the Flea Market office and are to park in the designated vendor parking areas surrounding the market during shopping hours.
Vendor set up hours are Mondays (10:00 am - 10:00 pm), and Tuesdays / Wednesdays (6:00 am - 7:45 am). On Extended Market weeks where the market is open on Monday, early setup will be on Sunday beginning at 3:00 pm. All vendors must have their space tickets at entry in order to set up. Booths are to be occupied by 7:45 am, or it will be rented as a no show space for the week.
All vendors must register both a personal and business (if applicable) name, address, copy of their State of Indiana Registered Retail Merchant Certificate (tax number) with the Flea Market office before setting up. If you need to register for a tax number, contact the Fort Wayne Office of the Indiana Dept. of Revenue, or start the application here.
Making first-time reservations can be done in a couple of different ways.You can fill out a vendor application online, or print it out and mail it in (Shipshewana Flea Market, Attn: Michael Christner, P.O. Box 185, Shipshewana, IN 46565) with your payment or down payment. You can also call the flea market office at 260-768-4129 to reserve and make a credit card payment over the phone. Or, come in the day you'd like to sell (6:00 am - 8:00 am) and reserve/pay for the day and week at the Flea Market office.
The flea market opens for the season on the first Tuesday in May and will run every Tuesday and Wednesday through September. We also have extended markets for Memorial Day and Labor Day, as well as special weekend market dates in June and August. The flea market is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all market days. Open rain or shine.

Handicap parking is available surrounding the entire perimeter of the flea market. However, if you'd like to rent an electric scooter, park or drop off near the information booth (S.R. 5 main entrance) for closest access.
Yes! Although the flea market's normal hours are on Tuesdays & Wednesdays, we do have a few special weekend market dates throughout the year. June Weekend Market (June 20-21, 2025) August Weekend Market (August 1-2, 2025) We also have other events that happen on Saturdays including the Swap Meets, Antique Market, Craft Shows, and other Town Events. And of course, all of the shops in town are open on Saturdays too!
Yes and no. About half of our flea market vendors have credit or debit card capabilities, so you'll want to bring plenty of cash! Of course, if you forget, we have several ATMs available on site.
You may consider bringing some of the following items on your visit to the flea market: Comfortable Shoes (Grounds are a fine gravel) Sunglasses, hat and sunscreen Umbrella or poncho (just in case) Cash Extra bags for purchases A cooler to keep in your trunk for cold food purchases Water bottle Wagon or shopping carts (or rent ours at space #1018)
Yes, we're dog friendly! Just be sure they're on a leash and picked up after.
This is the Midwest's largest flea market we're talking about here. With 700 open-air booths, you're bound to see anything and everything. There are lots of bargain-type flea market items as well as a HUGE variety of handmade, used, boutique, and specialty items unique to Shipshewana. You'll also find a great selection of local plants and produce, home decor, great food and snacks and a variety of specialty items of all kinds. Want specifics? Check out our online vendor directory.
You may get wet, but the good news is the flea market stays open, rain or shine...so bring your ponchos! Many vendors are in buildings, under big top tents, or at least have canopy tents so you are able to shop under cover. So, getting from space-to-space is all you have to worry about.
The flea market is an open-air outdoor market. Come prepared for any weather! However, many of the vendors are under cover in tents or buildings, providing protection from the Indiana elements. The market grounds are all a small gravel, so plan to wear comfy walking shoes.
