B. Are you ever open on the weekends?

Yes! Although the flea market's normal hours are on Tuesdays & Wednesdays, we do have a few special weekend market dates throughout the year.

  • June Weekend Market (June 19-20, 2020)
  • August Weekend Market (August 14-15, 2020)

It is $3 to park on flea market grounds per vehicle, Memorial Day through September. More about parking. Admission is FREE.

Guests who stay at our beautiful hotel, the Farmstead Inn & Conference Center, receive a free flea market parking pass with their room.

D. What products do vendors offer?

This is the Midwest's largest flea market we're talking about here. With 700 open-air booths, you're bound to see anything and everything. There are lots of bargain-type flea market items as well as a HUGE variety of handmade, used, boutique, and specialty items unique to Shipshewana. You'll also find a great selection of local plants and produce, home decor, great food and snacks and a variety of specialty items of all kinds.

Want specifics? Check out our online vendor directory.

E. Do vendors take credit cards?

Yes and no. About half of our flea market vendors have credit or debit card capabilities, so you'll want to bring plenty of cash! Of course, if you forget, we have several ATMs available on site.

F. Are pets allowed?

Yes, we're dog friendly!

Just be sure they're on a leash and picked up after.

G. Do you have electric scooters available to rent?

Sure do! Visit booth #1018 by the main entrance to rent electric scooters. See rental rates.

H. Is there handicap parking?

Handicap parking is available surrounding the entire perimeter of the flea market. However, if you'd like to rent an electric scooter, park or drop off near the information booth (S.R. 5 main entrance) for closest access.

I. Is the flea market outdoor or indoor?

The flea market is an open-air outdoor market. Come prepared for any weather! However, many of the vendors are under cover in tents or buildings, providing protection from the Indiana elements. The market grounds are all a small gravel, so plan to wear comfy walking shoes.

J. What if it rains?

You may get wet. The flea market stays open, rain or shine...so bring your ponchos! Many vendors are in buildings however, or under big top tents or at least have canopy tents so you are able to shop under cover and just getting from space-to-space is all you may have to worry about.

K. What should I bring?

You may consider bringing some of the following items on your visit to the flea market:

  • Comfortable Shoes (Grounds are a fine gravel)
  • Sunglasses, hat and sunscreen
  • Umbrella or poncho (just in case)
  • Cash
  • Extra bags for purchases
  • A cooler to keep in your trunk for cold food purchases
  • Water bottle
  • Wagon or shopping carts (or rent ours at space #1018)
L. Is there food on site?

Yes! A variety of food options are available throughout the market. Six food locations feature everything from delicious chicken and sirloin tips to tasty sweets and treats. There is something for everyone.

For a traditional indoor dining experience, visit the Auction Restaurant located at the main entrance to the market.

M. I’m looking for old or vintage items to up-cycle or refinish. Where can I find those?

Check out our list of Antiques & Collectibles flea market vendors on our website. On Wednesdays, bid at the Miscellaneous & Antique Auction which specializes in unique items including architectural salvage, used furniture, collectibles and signs. You can preview items for auction on Tuesdays in the Misc. & Antique Auction barn. We also have several special antique sales that you might be interested in throughout the year.

Or, attend one of our other events featuring antiques:

N. How do I become a vendor at the flea market?

It's easy! Send us a vendor application in advance, or just show up and check in at the flea market office! You can rent a spot to sell for a day, for a week, for a month, or even for a full season!

Check out rates and vendor information.
