Important COVID-19 Updates from Shipshewana Trading Place:  (Last Updated:  12/1/2020)

The safety and well-being of our guests, customers, buyers, sellers, vendors and employees is a priority for Shipshewana Trading Place Auction & Flea Market. We have taken additional efforts in response to the Indiana Executive Order effective November 15, 2020 and LaGrange County Directives effecctive November 27, 2020 to work toward your safety through operational efforts and education.

What we are doing to minimize the spread of illness at Shipshewana Trading Place:

  • Wearing a mask is required by the state, mandatory in LaGrange County and highly supported by Shipshewana Auction.
  • Masks will be made available to those without one. Ask for one from the office or lobby staff.
  • Environmental Services Staff have and always maintain regular cleaning of restrooms and surfaces in which germs can be transmitted using proper sanitizing products.
  • Our cleaning and housekeeping staff will make rounds regularly during business hours to maintain these areas especially during times when traffic is at a peak.
  • Educational posters reminding of social distancing, frequent handwashing, wearing a mask and avoiding touching your face will be placed throughout public/employee areas.
  • When hand sanitizing materials are available, they will be provided, however, employees and visitors are encouraged to bring their own and/or wash hands frequently.

What you need to know when you plan your trip:

  • If you are ill, PLEASE STAY HOME!
  • If you are sick, or have been in contact with someone sick or positive for COVID within 2 weeks, PLEASE STAY HOME.
  • Please maintain 6’ social distancing.
  • Please respect others’ personal space and if you see a situation in which you feel uncomfortable, remove yourself and do feel free to share that with a member of our team.
  • Please refrain from entering the office or lobby if other buyers or sellers are already checking out and only enter when 6’ social distancing is possible.
  • Do NOT Touch Items for Sale, you do not intend to purchase.
  • Do not touch your face. Cover your cough or sneeze. Wash hands frequently. Respectfully, we ask that you use common sense to respect others' personal space.
  • Food Service:  Please limit 1 household party per table. (Tables should not be moved as they will be placed according to the phase guidance by the state and county mandates of opening to the public.)
  • When hand sanitizing materials are available, they will be provided, however, employees and visitors are encouraged to bring their own and/or wash hands frequently.
  • We are highly encouraging you follow all recommended safety and prevention guidance in all of our public spaces.

SPECIAL EVENTS

ANTIQUE & MISC. AUCTIONS

LIVESTOCK AUCTIONS

  • Weekly Livestock Sale – Open and on schedule each Wednesday at 10 am.
  • If you are ill, please stay home.
  • Call Brian Lambright for questions about selling at 260-336-6009.

LIVESTOCK AUCTION BUYERS

  • Livestock Auctions Now Open Wednesdays Year-Round
  • Hay buyers welcome. Call-in orders also welcome at 260-768-4129.
  • Assist us in minimizing the time you spend at the auction, market & in the sale arena by limiting the arena to buyers only.
    (For your safety, we recommend no spectators in the arena, including children under the age of 18.)

LIVESTOCK AUCTION SELLERS/CONSIGNERS

  • Consigners are encouraged to deliver livestock & return home. (Checks will be mailed unless you call to make pick up arrangements.)
  • Market values will not be impacted as a result of your leaving before sale time. Call Brian with any questions about selling at 260-336-6009.

HORSE AUCTIONS

  • Regular Weekly Horse Auctions – Open and on schedule each Friday. Tack sells at 10:30 am. Horses sell at 12:30 pm
     (There will be NO Horse or Tack Sale on Friday, November 27th. Regular weekly Friday Horse and Tack Sales will resume on Friday, December 4th, 2020.)
  • For the safety of employees and visitors to Shipshewana Trading place and due to the current LaGrange County status of Red, the fact that this single event crowd attendance is higher than usual and in response to the November 15 Executive Order, the 2020 Friday After Thanksgiving Horse Sale has been Cancelled.

FARMSTEAD INN & CONFERENCE

  • Book Your Room
    Staff is minimizing touchpoints and sanitizing high touchpoint areas. All cleaning agents are sanitizing products for the safety of our guests. Breakfast is a limited hot menu currently that hotel staff serves to guests. Seating capacity in breakfast area is limited. Guests may choose to eat breakfast in their room if seating is full. Pool is currently open. All guests are encouraged to socially distance and wear a mask when 6' is not able to be maintained as required by the state.

Auction Restaurant

  • Open for dine-in on Wednesdays & Fridays (Call for hours.)

FLEA MARKET

  • Seasonal Market will be Reopening May 4, 2021

SWAP MEETS

  • Seasonal Swap meets will resume April 24, 2021.
  • Other 2021 Swap Meet Dates include:  May 15, 2021; June 19, 2021; August 7, 2021; September 18, 2021; and October 16, 2021.

RV PARK & SERVICE CENTER
