Flea Market Vendor Spotlight: Amy's Accessories 624
What started as "just something to do," turned into a 26 year venture for Betty, owner of Amy's Accessories at booth 624 in the Shipshewana Flea Market.
"My friend and I started selling items at the flea market 26 years ago just for something to do," she said. "It's nice because it's just 2 days a week."
Named after Betty's daughter, Amy's Accessories offers unique kids clothes, fly-through birds, and novelty salt and pepper shakers.
The kids clothes at this booth are hilarious. My favorite one says, "I wouldn't be so spoiled if someone would spank Grandma." That's what grandma's are for, right? Betty came up with that one herself.
Have a grandkid, neice or nephew to buy for? Show them your love with these one-of-a-kind t-shirts, onesies and hoodies with cute sayings on them.
"People who bought their kids clothes from me years ago are now coming back and buying for their grandkids!" said Betty.
The strangest product that Amy's Accessories sells is the fly-through birds. In fact, these are what made me stop and look at Betty's booth. Fly-through birds are these small magnetized sfigurines (shaped like birds or butterflies) that are split in half. The pieces go on either side of your window. Such an interesting and whimsical idea!
Visit Amy's Accessories at space 624 in the Shipshewana Flea Market every Tuesday and Wednesday from May through the first Saturday in October. And don't forget about our Labor Day market on Monday, September 5th, and Fall Extravaganza Flea Market on Tuesday, September 27 through Saturday, Oct 1.
