Shipshewana, IN – The Shipshewana Flea Market is excited to announce the opening of their much-anticipated Weekend Market, taking place on June 14th & 15th, 2024. This special Family-Themed event is one of only two weekends each year when they open their gates for weekend visitors, offering a unique shopping experience filled with family fun, delicious food, and countless treasures from nearly 700 full-season vendors and additional weekend-only vendors.

Visitors to the Shipshewana Flea Market during this special weekend will have the chance to win fantastic door prizes, given away each hour. In addition to the thrilling prizes, they are excited to welcome Shippy the Prospector, who will be available for photo opportunities at 9 am and 11 am Friday and Saturday. While there, don’t miss the opportunity to mine for your own gems at their mining sluice. This special weekend will also feature the chance to win “Treasure Bucks”. Worth $5, these wooden coins will be hidden in a select number of gemstone mining bags and as special "kids only" door prize drawings, adding to the fun treasure hunt of the market!

A Tradition of Excellence for 75 Years
The Shipshewana Flea Market has been a beloved tradition for 75 years. Open every Tuesday and Wednesday from May through September, it offers a weekday selling opportunity for vendors who typically travel to weekend markets. This scheduling allows us to attract a diverse range of vendors and provides a unique shopping experience that differs from typical weekend markets. But, for additional shopping opportunities, they now have two special weekend markets each year.
“The weekend openings are a wonderful opportunity for families to experience the charm of Shipshewana,” said Lora Gates, Marketing Director. “With special attractions like Shippy the Prospector, hourly door prizes, and an amazing array of food and vendors, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Plus with all of the great culture, entertainment and things Shipshewana has to do in the area, visitors have so much to choose from, they may want to stay a night or two to take it all in!”
The flea market is now open 8 am to 4 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, May through September, rain or shine with holiday hours on Independence Day, and Labor Day. The market is also opening for their special weekend hours on June 14-15 and August 2-3. Plus, the weekly antique & misc. auction is held each Wednesday, year-round inside the misc. & antique auction building. Special featured sales of toys, signs/advertising and the weekly sale of antiques, collectibles, architectural salvage, furniture, glass, primitives and more offer buyers a plethora of items to bid on with the 6-9 auctioneers who sell simultaneously each Wednesday, all year long.
