Shipshewana Flea Market, the Midwest's Largest, features a seasonal flea market on 40 acres with nearly 700 spaces and a weekly antique auction that has been running since 1922. Learn all you need to know for your next visit to Shipshewana in Indiana's Amish Country.
1. Dates & Hours
The Shipshewana Flea Market is open 8 am - 4 pm, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from May through September. The mid-week hours add to the uniqueness of the seasonal flea market. Can’t make it during the week? It is also open for holidays like Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day, plus two special weekend markets in June and August.
2. Size
There are nearly 700 booths on 40 acres in the open air outdoor flea market. With that many vendors, you are sure to find something you like. Vendors carry all kinds of products from plants & produce to clothing and home decor. Be sure to wear your walking shoes!
3. Products
You can search for products ahead of time. Just visit our website for the online vendor directory, or pick up a print directory when you arrive at each entrance gate. Plan your visit and be sure you highlight those spaces you definitely do not want to miss. There is so much to see, visit your must-sees first and spend the rest of the day browsing for all kinds of amazing products you never even knew were missing in your life.
4. Location
It’s located in the heart of Northern Indiana’s Amish Country. Don’t be surprised to pass a few buggies on your way in! Plus, you'll want to take in some amazing sights by driving the self-guided backroads Audio Tour, Off the Beaten Path to complete your visit.
5. Food
There is amazing food.
- Food Courts: Be sure to visit one of the food courts on site for sandwiches, drinks, Nelson's famous chicken, and Pit-tatoes.
- Flea Market Food Vendors: There are also lots of food vendors to visit where you can snack on food such as homemade ice cream, giant cinnamon rolls, kettle korn, soft pretzels, and smoothies. Near the Farmer's Market, you'll find a variety of food trucks in the newest food offering addition to the market "Mobile Eats".
- Shipshewana Auction Restaurant: You can even dine indoors at the Shipshewana Auction Restaurant for favorites like homemade chicken and noodles, hand breaded tenderloins and fish, or hamloaf and meatloaf dinners, not to mention delicious pies in a variety of flavors.
6. Giveaways

7. Live Antique & Misc. Auction
There’s an auction house right on the property. If you are looking to upcycle, re-purpose or find a unique item, try bidding at the Antique & Miscellaneous Auction. It happens every Wednesday year-round starting at 9:00 am in the Antique & Misc. Auction building. You can even preview items on Tuesdays.

8. Rain or Shine
The Shipshewana Flea Market is an outdoor, open-air market. It’s open rain or shine. Many of the vendors (almost all) have some type of tent, canopy or even building in which you can get out of the elements during the unpredictable Indiana weathers.
