Maintenance Technician

The Farmstead Inn & Conference Center is looking for reliable and customer-service oriented individual with a strong work ethic to perform maintenance duties at the Amish-inspired Inn and other areas of the Shipshewana Trading Place campus as needed.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping facilities and equipment in good working order.

• General knowledge of mechanical systems, plumbing, electrical wiring, and HVAC equipment.
• Performing routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure safety standards.
• Fixing structural damage such as doors, windows, and walls.
• Responding to emergency repairs and troubleshooting issues.
• Maintaining records of repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Complete tasks in the maintenance log when applicable.
• Complete other projects as assigned.
• Willing to be on-call for emergencies.
• Basic knowledge of pool systems.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with essential staff members to ensure that all conference center venues are clean, tidy and meet hotel standards.
• Collaborate with the Event and Conference Room Planner to ensure that the conference center venues are fully-furnished with amenities according to the guests’ needs.
• Manage group calendar to ensure rooms are set up in a timely manner.
• Manage conference room equipment.

Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid and current driver’s license.
• Friendly and welcoming demeanor.
• Effective oral communication skills.
• Demonstrate a positive customer service attitude.
• Demonstrate a drive to exceed customer’s expectations.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Possess the ability to lift 50 pounds.
