Learn More About Our History!
1. ) "The Barn" is Completely Different Every Week
"The Barn"-- a 5,000 square foot structure, is heated in the winter and open-air in the summer. It has over 100 spaces filled with items brought by pickers and sellers from all over the Midwest each week. Sellers bring something unique and different each Wednesday, year-round.
2. ) The Antique Auction IS Open Year-Round
Many people think the Antique & Misc. Auction concludes with the seasonal flea market, however, that is NOT the case. The Shipshewana Antique & Misc. Auction is a weekly auction beginning at 9 am EVERY* Wednesday throughout the year.
*We do take a couple of weeks off at Christmas;)
3. ) You can find SO Much More than Antiques
You'll find A LOT of antiques, but did you also know that you will find:
- Vintage
- Farmhouse
- Tools
- Mid-Century Modern
- Furniture
- Glassware
- Art
- Primitives
- Household Items
- and MORE!
You just never know what you might find at the famous Shipshewana Antique Auction each week!
4. ) You Can Preview Items Before the Day of the Sale
Some sellers send photos ahead of their sale date. Shipshewana Auction takes photos of each space on the Tuesday prior to the Wednesday sale and posts them by 5 pm the night before each auction so you have the opportunity to preview them before you arrive or to place an absentee or telephone bid.
5. ) You Do NOT Have to Be at the Auction to Place A Bid
We DO take absentee bids and telephone bids each week. All you have to do is call the antique auction office at 260-768-4129 and tell them the item you are interested in (describing the item and the row and space number it is identified by on our online photo listing at AuctionZip).
You may want to bring along a bidding helper or friend if you find items you'd like to bid on in different areas of the barn.
6. ) Sellers Get Paid Same-Day
Shipshewana Auction has a same-day payout for all sellers. If you are looking for an established auction that has buyers every week, year-round, you will want to look into Selling at Shipshewana Auction. Checks are cut and available within about an hour after the sale of your last item minus your commission.
