Are motorized scooters available to rent?

Yes, electric scooters are available during flea market season. Visit booth #1018 (Pac-N-Shipshewana) by the flea market's main entrance to rent electric scooters. For reservations, call 260-768-4476 at least one day in advance. Reservations are held until 8:30am. Please leave your name and arrival date in the message when you call.

Are there hotels in the area?

Yes! Directly across the street from the Auction & Flea Market and within walking distance to downtown shops and attractions is the Farmstead Inn & Conference Center.

How do I locate a certain flea market vendor?

Download our mobile app to search for vendors, visit our vendor directory page, or pick up one of our printed flea market directory guides available at the information booth near the main entrance of the market.

How do I sell items at the Antique and Miscellaneous Auction?

When is Shipshewana open?

The town of Shipshewana has shops and attractions that are open year-round. The Shipshewana Flea Market itself is a seasonal market (see dates and hours here [link to dates and hours page]), but the Auctions, Antique Mall, Farmstead Inn, and downtown shops are year-round. In the Amish/Mennonite community, it is commonplace to be closed on Sundays, so please consult shipshewana.com for specific shop hours.

Flea Market

A. When is the flea market open?

The Shipshewana Flea Market is open every Tuesday and Wednesday from May through September, from 8am - 5pm (ET). Also open during special holidays and events, as listed below.

Extended Market 2017 Dates:

  • Memorial Day (May 29-31)
  • Independence Day (July 3-5)
  • Labor Day (Sept. 4-6)
D. What products do vendors offer?

This is the Midwest's largest flea market we're talking about here. With nearly 900 booths, you're bound to see anything and everything. There are lots of bargain-type flea market items as well as a HUGE variety of handmade, used, boutique, and specialty items unique to Shipshewana. You'll also find a great selection of local plants and produce as well as great food and snacks.

E. Do vendors take credit cards?

Yes and no. About half of our flea market vendors have credit or debit card capabilities, so you'll want to bring plenty of cash! Of course, if you forget, we have several ATMs available on site.

F. Are pets allowed?

Yes, we're dog friendly!

Just be sure they're on a leash and picked up after.

G. Do you have electric scooters available to rent?

Sure do! Visit booth #1018 by the main entrance to rent electric scooters. See rental rates.

H. Is there handicap parking?

Handicap parking is available surrounding the entire perimeter of the flea market. However, if you'd like to rent an electric scooter, park or drop off near the information booth (S.R. 5 main entrance) for closest access.

I. Is the flea market outdoor or indoor?

The flea market is an open-air outdoor market. Come prepared for any weather! However, many of the vendors are under cover in tents or buildings, providing protection from the Indiana elements.

J. What if it rains?

You may get wet. The flea market stays open, rain or shine...so bring your ponchos!

K. What should I bring?

You may consider bringing some of the following items on your visit to the flea market:

  • Comfortable Shoes
  • Sunglasses, hat and sunscreen
  • Umbrella or poncho (just in case)
  • Cash
  • Extra bags for purchases
  • A cooler to keep in your trunk for cold food purchases
  • Water bottle
L. Is there food on site?

Yes! A variety of food options are available throughout the market. Six food locations feature everything from delicious chicken and sirloin tips to tasty sweets and treats. There is something for everyone.

M. I’m looking for old or vintage items to up-cycle or refinish. Where can I find those?

Check out our list of Antiques & Collectibles flea market vendors on our website or mobile app. On Wednesdays, bid at the Miscellaneous & Antique Auction which specializes in unique items including architectural salvage, used furniture, collectibles and signs. You can preview items for auction on Tuesdays in the Misc. & Antique Auction barn.

Become a Vendor

Can I park on my rented space?

Yes, vendors can park on your space as long as your vehicle fits. Outdoor spaces are 25' x 20'.  All vehicles belonging to a vendor or vendor employee not parked on rented space are to have a parking pass issued by the Flea Market office and are to park in the designated vendor parking areas surrounding the market during shopping hours.

Do vendors bring their own tents and tables?

Yes, vendors may bring your own pop-up tent or tables. Canopies or tents must be staked to the ground, including those using cement blocks at the base. For big top tent inquiries (which require a minimum 18 week space rental and additional storage fees), contact Shipshewana Tent Rental at 260-768-7485 or the Flea Market Office.

How do I reserve a space at the market?

Making first-time reservations can be done in a couple of different ways.You can fill out a vendor application online, or print it out and mail it in (Shipshewana Flea Market, Attn: Michael Christner, P.O. Box 185, Shipshewana, IN 46565) with your payment or down payment. You can also call the flea market office at 260-768-4129 to reserve and make a credit card payment over the phone. Or, come in the day you'd like to sell (6:00 am - 8:00 am) and reserve/pay for the day and week at the Flea Market office.

What are the market’s days and hours?

The flea market opens for the 2017 season on May 2, and will run every Tuesday and Wednesday through September. We also have extended markets for Memorial Day (May 29-31), Independence Day (Jul 3-5), and Labor Day (Sep 4-6). The flea market is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all market days. Open rain or shine.

What facilities are available?

Restrooms: Seven different locations throughout the market that are open at all times during market days.

Showers: Showers are available for vendor use on all scheduled Market days including set up dates.

RV/Motor Home Park: For those not parking on their flea market space, we have a 70 site RV Park with full hookups.

Food / Refreshments: There are five food court locations and one full-service restaurant located on the grounds.

Rest Areas: The flea market has several covered pavilions throughout the market designated as rest areas for customers. These areas will have picnic tables and seating, and may feature special entertainment.

What information do I need to have in order to set up at the market?

All vendors must register both a personal and business (if applicable) name, address, copy of their State of Indiana Registered Retail Merchant Certificate (tax number) with the Flea Market office before setting up. If you need to register for a tax number, contact the Fort Wayne Office of the Indiana Dept. of Revenue, or start the application here.

When can vendors set up?

Vendor set up hours are Mondays (10:00 am - 10:00 pm), and Tuesdays / Wednesdays (6:00 am - 7:45 am). On Extended Market weeks where the market is open on Monday, early setup will be on Sunday beginning at 3:00 pm. All vendors must have their space tickets at entry in order to set up. Booths are to be occupied by 7:45 am, or it will be rented as a no show space for the week.
