What Can I Find at a Flea Market?
When you spend a day shopping with us at the largest flea market in the Midwest, you can find just about anything you are looking for. There are so many unique things to see here, with vendor items including homemade, upcycled, antique, new, and other treasures.
1. Our Flea Market Vendors Have Something for Everyone
As you shop, please keep in mind that different shoppers have different tastes. Antiques are chic décor to some, broken items can be fun upcycle projects, and some see junk as treasure. That’s what we love most about Shipshewana Trading Place – there is something for everyone!
Before you arrive, we recommend printing our flea market map and cross-checking it with our comprehensive vendor directory so you can note the booths you want to make sure you visit! You won’t have time to see everything, so you don’t want to waste time while you are here looking at things that don’t interest you. There’s nothing worse than returning home after a big shopping day and realizing you missed seeing something you wanted to buy.
If you are an annual visitor to the market, make sure you check out the map and vendor directory anyway. Things are always changing, and your favorite spot might be one you’ve never seen before.
The Shipshewana Flea Market is open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm EDT between May 4 and September 29, 2021. We will also be open for some special holiday and weekend markets.
2. Take a Shopping Break and Enjoy Lunch at the Food Courts
As you are shopping the grounds of Shipshewana Trading Place, there are plenty of food court options located throughout. Whether you are looking for fried favorites, comfort foods, snacks, sweet treats, or drinks … we’ve got you covered!
You can also mark your must-try items on your printable map so as you are strolling the grounds, you don’t miss your chance for a Fry Pie, BBQ chicken, pork burger, or whatever food you are craving.
3. Weekly Antique Auction
If you are one of our valued shoppers who is an antique collector, who enjoys using antiques as décor pieces in your home, or who is looking for pieces in need of TLC for a great upcycle project, the weekly antique auction may also be for you!
Antique auctions are held year-round on Wednesday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm CDT. If you want to make your Shipshewana adventure a 2-day experience, you could shop the flea market on Tuesday and the auction on Wednesday, with an overnight stay at our Farmstead Inn or the Shipshewana RV Park. Why shop for only one day when you can stay for two, right?
4. Last Stop: The Farmers’ Market for Flowers and Produce
One more area of Shipshewana Trading Place that you will love is the Farmers’ Market. Several vendors sell beautiful flowers and plants for your garden. You can also buy fresh produce and other homemade goodies.
The Farmers’ Market is conveniently located on the southeast side of the grounds (Near Gates 9 & 10) and offers a 15-minute parking area so you can easily swing through and pick up your items on your way out.
We Hope to See You Soon
As you can see, there truly is something for everyone at Shipshewana Trading Place. We look forward to seeing you out here soon.
