This Meat & Cheese Shop in Shipshewana is SO Worth Stopping For
One of the best things about Shipshewana is the variety of wholesome food available. If you're looking for quality and local food, you've got to stop at Yoder's Meat & Cheese. You're going to want to pack along a cooler. Trust me.
Yoder's Meat & Cheese is an incredible store offering 150 cuts of meat, over 80 varieties of cheese, a full line of in-house smoked meats, a deli, jams and jellies, candy, salsas, popcorn, canned goods and much more.
It's actually located right on SR 5, right next to the Shipshewana Auction & Flea Market, which makes it a super convenient stop for shoppers, and for me!
Speaking of cheese, I highly suggest trying their in-house smoked varieties. My personal favorite is the smoked provolone. I just love the smokey flavor! According to Yoder Meat & Cheese's website, other customer favorites in the cheese section include the Amish Butter Cheese, Roasted Garlic, Vintage Habanero, Horseradish, Smoked Gouda, New York Sharp Cheddar and Lacey Baby Swiss. It may take you a lifetime just to try them all!
The cheese products are manufactured largely by different cheese-making operations in the Amish Mennonite communities of Indiana and Ohio.
And what about the meat? Well, you can bet the meat at Yoder's is top quality. They offer all-natural beef, pork, lamb and chicken.
They even have a grain-fed, grass-fed and GMO-free program. The beef are raised locally, then processed, packaged, and retailed at one location. Yoder's Meat & Cheese Company is a full USDA inspected company, maintaining the highest standard of food sanitation and safety operations.
And how about those in-house smoked meats? They use all natural hickory and cherry wood chips to get the best flavor for bacon, ring bologna, summer sausage, jerky, beef sticks, sausage, bratwurst, salami, smokey links and more. Is your mouth watering yet?
If that isn't enough to get you to check the store out, maybe the artisan food section will catch your fancy! I could spend an hour just looking at the many varieties of salsa, jams, snacks and candy Yoder's Meat & Cheese has to offer.
I also appreciate how they make sure every product in their store is quality or local. For example, the noodles come from a local Amish family, and the jams and jellies are made by Amish Mennonite families in the traditional home-style manner.
Make sure Yoder's Meat & Cheese store is on your must-do list when visiting Shipshewana. I just know you'll drive away with a trunk full of delicious quality, wholesome goodness!
