Guide to LaGrange County Area Farmer’s Markets
There are few things better than a summer morning at a farmer's market.
I just love looking at the colorful produce, the fresh baked goods and handmade crafts unique to the area. Plus, it's so much fun to actually meet the people who grow the food!
Here's a list of some great summertime Farmer's Markets to check out the next time you're in LaGrange County, Indiana.
1. Howe Farmer's Market

This is one of the best farmer's markets in the Northern Indiana area! The Howe, Indiana Farmer's market offers locally grown fruits, vegetables and eggs. Also cookies, baked goods, crafts and coffee.
Every Saturday, May to October, 7AM - Noon

2. Lagrange Farmer's Market
The town of Lagrange, Indiana also hosts a farmer's market every Tuesday from 1-5pm and Saturday from 8am - 1pm, May to October.
The Lagrange farmer's market offers produce, baked goods, wooden items and plants. Also, they normally host a Strawberry Festival in June!

3. Shipshewana Flea Market
Did you know that the Midwest's Largest Flea Market in Shipshewana, Indiana has a huge farmer's market aisle? It's complete with all kinds of plants, fruits, vegetables, honey, olive oils, baked goods, and more. Plus, you can shop the rest of the huge market for local goods and deals on decor, clothes and more!

4. Shipshewana Swap Meet
This swap meet, held on select Saturdays, April through October, would be a farmer's market like you've never seen before.
In addition to plants, produce and baked goods, the Shipshewana Swap Meet also has dogs, cats, poultry, rabbits, hunting / fishing supplies and garage sale type items.

And of course, if you can't make it to one of these markets, there are always plenty of roadside produce and egg stands out and about (this is Amish country after all). Simply take a drive through the scenic countryside and you may come across a few!
