6 Strange But Totally Awesome Flea Market Finds
So, here are some of the weirdest (but also amazing) finds at the Shipshewana Flea Market.
One of the best parts about visiting an outdoor market is that you get to actually talk to the real-life person selling the product. It's so much fun learning about their unusual products and why they believe in them!
Warning: the items, booth locations, and prices in this blog may change without notice, as is the nature of a vendor market.
1. Toilet Tweets
Ladies, listen up! Do you have a man at home who also seems to forget to put the toilet seat down? You need one of these Toilet Tweets.
Simply peel and place the vinyl decals on the top underside part of the toilet lid. The hilarious sayings like "Git-r-done then Git-r-down" or "If You Can Read This, Blame a Man" will remind men to put the seat down! Also, what a great conversation starter for guests. They are removable and washable as well.
Find them: Pine Corner Merchandise, Booth 609, 641-643, Shipshewana Flea Market
Price: $3.99 each
2. I Pooped Today T-Shirts
Sometimes, you've got to celebrate the little victories. Even if that has to do with basic bodily functions. Luckily, there's a T-shirt for that.
This vendor prints the T-shirts right there in his booth, and he's got some FUNNY t-shirts (warning: some of them are pretty crude though!) Besides the "I Pooped Today" shirt, my favorites are the dog mug shots and the ones that say "I love cats, It's humans that annoy me."
Find them: Booth 1019, Shipshewana Flea Market
Price: $10 Each
3. Emu Oil Lip Refreshers
According to this market vendor, Emu oil is great for relieving cold sores, arthritis, mosquito bites, poison ivy, bee stings and all sorts of other ailments. Yes, it's actually oil from an emu. They sell it by the bottle, but also have emu oil lip refreshers (chapstick) for just a few dollars. It's a best seller and feels amazing on your lips!
Find them: Pondview Emus, Antique Building South D, Shipshewana Flea Market
Price: $3 Each
4. Precious Moments Collectibles
A few Precious Moments figurines by themselves may not seem so strange, but when you put hundreds and hundreds of them in a single booth - well then woah!
Precious Moments is celebrating their 40th Anniversary this year - so what better way to celebrate then by sifting through these hundreds of figurines out at the Shipshewana Flea Market? Great for gifts, or for any Precious Moments enthusiast.
Find them: Booth 710, Shipshewana Flea Market
Price: Varies, Approximately $10 - $30
5. Goose Clothes
According to a 1991 Chicago Tribune article written by Sharon Stangenes, concrete geese are "the pink flamingoes of the 1990s."
Have you ever wondered what happened to this trend of dressing lawn geese? Well, it's apparently still alive and well here in the Midwest because shoppers love buying the handmade goose clothes for sale at the Shipshewana Flea Market. You can find all sorts of outfits for your goose including holiday attire and even cowboy clothes!
Find them: Jo's Crafts, Booth 157, Shipshewana Flea Market

6. Mac-n-Cheese Socks
This flea market booth has 200 different fun sock designs. I guarantee that you'll be able to find a sock for whatever you love (like, for example, macaroni and cheese). Look closely on the noodle, it even has a smiley face!
This booth also has Kids Socks, Gripper Socks, and Diabetic Socks!
