10 Delicious & Creative Ways to Use Pie Filling
Who doesn’t love an amazing sweet treat every now and then? I’ll bet if you are anything like me, you don’t really have the time to put your heart and soul in the main ingredients because you are busy with… well all that life has to throw your way.

1. Pudgy Pies (aka Campfire Pies)
- Ingredients:
- Bread (white or wheat)
- Butter
- Pie filling of any flavor
- Instructions:
- Butter both sides of two slices of bread.
- Place one slice of bread in a pudgy pie iron, add a spoonful of pie filling, and top with the second slice of bread.
- Close the pie iron and cook over a campfire or grill for 3-5 minutes per side, until golden brown.
2. Turnovers
- Ingredients:
- Puff pastry sheets
- 1 jar of pie filling
- Egg wash (1 egg beaten with a splash of water)
- Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cut puff pastry into squares. Add a spoonful of pie filling in the center.
- Fold the pastry over to form a triangle and seal the edges with a fork or pastry tool.
- Brush with egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
3. Cheesecake Topping
- Ingredients:
- 1 pre-made cheesecake

- 1 box of yellow cake mix
- 1 stick of butter, sliced into thin pats
- Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Spread the pie filling evenly in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the pie filling.
- Arrange the pats of butter evenly over the cake mix.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden and the filling is bubbly.
