Shipshewana, IN — May 29, 2025 — Vibrant blooms and a tribute to quilting tradition now greet visitors at the Farmstead Inn & Conference Center. This summer, the inn proudly unveils its 2025 Quilt Garden: Goose Tracks. Located at 370 S Van Buren Street in the heart of Shipshewana, this living quilt design is part of the award-winning Quilt Gardens along the Heritage Trail. The Quilt Gardens is viewable free to the public during all daylight hours and days of the week from May 30 through September 15, 2025.

In its 17th season, the Quilt Gardens pairs the artistry of quilt patterns with the beauty of meticulously planned gardens. The Goose Tracks pattern—known for its pointed, directional design and historical symbolism of migration—pays homage to the region’s agricultural roots.

“It is an honor to be one of the newest stops on this iconic trail,” said Lora Gates, Marketing Director for the Farmstead Inn. “Goose Tracks reflects both movement and heritage, much like Shipshewana itself. It’s a perfect fit for our property, where guests gather to experience the best of northern Indiana.”

The Farmstead Inn joins 15 other Quilt Gardens, one of which is also a mile away in Shipshewana at Weaver Furniture. They are all viewable in a free, self-guided tour curated by the Elkhart County Convention & Visitors Bureau. The Quilt Gardens has earned national recognition for its celebration of quilting, gardening, and creative placemaking.

Whether shopping Shipshewana Flea Market, or enjoying a weekend getaway, guests can admire the thousands of colorful blooms. Each plant is carefully arranged and cared for by local volunteers and experienced gardeners of the Shipshewana Garden Club.
