Auction Tip 2: Arriving at Shipshewana Auction

Are you a new or inexperienced buyer, and want to try out the Wednesday Shipshewana Miscellaneous & Antique Auction? Here, we’re explaining everything from buyer’s numbers to understanding the auctioneer to loading your items. In this segment, we explain the parking procedure at Shipshewana Auction.

Once you’ve made a decision to attend one of our auctions, which is held every Wednesday, I would suggest coming fairly early in the day. The auction starts at 9:00 am. Many of our buyers are arriving by 7-7:30 in the morning in order to preview items.

As you’re coming on to the auction property, especially in the summer, we do have designated areas for people who are attending the Antique & Miscellaneous Auction to park. A lot of them are bringing trucks and trailers; some cars. Parking is at a premium. We do charge to park on the property in the summer months. During the winter months (fall, winter, spring), there is no charge to park. In the summer, there is a nominal fee to park. Park in the designated areas. You can buy season parking passes if you come regularly, or you can buy day parking passes at the gate as you’re coming in to attend the auction.

Once you get out of the car, walk on into the auction barn. We’re looking forward to seeing you on the auction floor!
